How to Remove Coffee, Red Wine, and Other Organic Stains
By · CommentsIf you have a fresh spill of anything. Be sure to use a damp cloth and blot the area to transfer as much of the material to the cloth as possible. Once you have completed this, then comes the best kept all natural secret. Hydrogen peroxide (brown bottle) found in most grocery stores and drug stores. Hydrogen peroxide only works on synthetic carpet (nylon, olefin, polyester) which is in the majority of most homes. Do not use on wool carpets or rugs, as that is a natural fiber, and can be ruined by hydrogen peroxide. But, the amount in the grocery store is a low volume, and is very safe to use, and effective. First thing you do is get yourself a spray top to screw onto the top of the bottle. This will help give you even coverage, because if you pour it, you will waste most of it. Also, a good idea is to use rubber gloves if you agitate with your hands. Hydrogen peroxide will not hurt you, but it can make your hand turn white temporarily, as it attacks anything organic (including you). Spray onto the affected area liberally, and then agitate with your glove or shoe, and then you are done. You can now leave the peroxide to work it’s magic. You might see real fast some white foaming, but that is normal, and the attack in process. Another great feature of hydrogen peroxide is that it will not leave any residue, and it is a deodorizer, by killing the micro organisms that cause odor. This will be your best spotter in your arsenal. If you have pets, anything from either end of the pet, can be taken care of with hydrogen peroxide. I hope you like this tip.
